Weekend Getaway Camping Trip

This last weekend Darren and I got to go on a camping trip to Cascade without the boys! It was an adventure! We left at noon Saturday and didn't find a place to camp til 9:00 that night! We went to Horsetheif Resovoir in Cascade first but, all the good camping spots were gone! We pitched our tent in this really crappy spot and went to try and swim but too many people were fishing, so we never got to swim. Well, we decided that we weren't going to have a lot of fun so we left to find a better spot. We drove I think all together 50 miles around and around the Cascade/Donnelly area looking for a spot. Everything was full or cost $15 a night! We didn't have a lot of money so we settled on a little spot off of the road up towards Tamarack. We were right off the road right next to a drop off into the Cascade lake. It was a steep climb down but we had our own little beach. It was nice a private other than being next to the road. But we figured cars were better than a bunch of campers being close to us. We went fishing, slept (sleeping is SO nice when you can wake up when you want), made smores, and just sat around and did nothing but enjoy the scenery. We had a pretty amazing view. And a coyote came over to say hi to us. He crossed the road right into our camp and went into the trees. Then a bald eagle flew down right out of a tree above us. We got eated alive by misquitos but otherwise had a lot of fun.

Thank you to Jessica, Tyson, Johnathan, Alyssa, Levi and Chandie who watched the boys for us! Thank you so much for giving Darren and I a much needed weekend away!

Sorry don't mind me in the picture! I look funny because I didn't have makeup or a shower the whole weekend :S But Darren looks good though. ;) Didn't we have a gorgeous view!
