Getting Ready for Christmas!
Now that the kids are getting older and will really start remembering things, like memories, I wanted to do a lot with them this year for Christmas. We went to the festival of trees with my mom. We made Christmas ornaments, got faces painted, decorated cookies, talked to Santa. We don't tell the kids that Santa is real, we more so just tell them it is fun make believe for Christmas. So they still get excited about Santa and and like to pretend he is real, which doesn't bother me. When they went to sit on Santa's lap Kyler said "Are you a fake Santa?" Santa "Do I look fake?" Kyler "Ya." It was so funny! We went and cut down our first Christams tree for Nonie and Papa. We use a fake tree but thought it would be fun to cut one down with the kids. They had so much fun hiking through the mountains and snow till we found a tree. We have been watching Christmas movies, they love How the Grinch Stole Christmas, drinking hot cocoa and making different decorations. This is our snowman "Snowy" since we dont have snow yet (knock on wood). For the first time we decorated gingerbread houses. It was fun but challenging at the same time. Kyler just wanted to eat the candy, and Darren and I did most of it but it was a lot of fun. I still plan on doing more things till Christmas. I can't believe it is two weeks away! Hope everyone is having fun holdiay season!
