Family Update

Well, I can't get my camera to download the latest pictures of the boys so I will just give you all an update on what has been going on with us.

We went to Blockfest at Boise State University last Saturday. The kids got to go around to different stations and build with blocks. Well, Aiden did the building and Kyler just knocked them down. We had to keep a close eye on Kyler because he got a little bored and decided to go knock other kids blocks over. Aiden had so much fun though, he definitely has a mind like his Dad. A strategic, mathematical, engineering mind. He just loved building bridges, houses, car ramps, and he even tried to make a truck with a trailer. It was a fun family activity.

We have been working with Aiden on potty training. It was rough going for a while but he is doing awesome now! He will even go potty when we are away from the house now. He can suprisingly hold it in quite a while. He wears diapers only when he sleeps. He goes commando the rest of the day. If he has anything on other than his pants he thinks he can pee in it. Undearwear, diapers, pull ups. So all he wears is pants. I am so excited to only have one child in diapers! I was worried he wouldn't be potty trained by fall for preschool but I think he will get there. Yay Aiden! We have had a problem with Aiden wanting to sleep in bed with us in the middle of the night, well one night we told him to go sleep on the couch. So he did. He never bothers us anymore at night he just gets his blanket and goes to sleep on the couch and we find him there th next morning. He is talking in such good sentences now. He knows his numbers, shapes, ABC song, and colors. He loves doing puzzels and playing with playdough. Darren and I call each other "honey bunny" sometimes and now when Aiden wants something he says to me or Dad "honey bunny can I get some..." It is so cute. He even has a little silly side. He will say "Mom I like you" or "Mom I need to talk to you about something." or he will tell Dad if he is away from him at all "I miss you". He is such a heart melter. He is such a big helper and is always full of questions and the word "why?"

Kyler is doing so good. We are working on weaning him from his binky. He only gets it when he sleeps now. We were worried it would be hard because he acted like he was born with it attached. But he isn't doing to bad. He started getting attached to Aiden's teddy bear so we try to encourage that when he is upset. Aiden put up a fit for about a day then got over it. Kyler is talking more lately. He loves the animals we have. Out of no where he will get worried about our pet lizard and say " Mary? Mary?" with a very concerned look on his face and almost cry until we show him she is ok. He is such a sweetheart and so empathetic. We have a book where a baby birds balloon gets broken and he started crying one day while we read it to him because of baby birds broken balloon and then he kept giving the book a hug. He loves to cuddle and give kisses when people get hurt. He will sit with me quite often and just grab my hand and put it up to his chest and hug it. The kids love each other so much and are such little schemers. I am going to be ganged up on when they are older. They are so different from each other, but I can't imagine one with out the other. They are like 2 pieces to a puzzel. My kids can be very exhausting sometimes but are so fun and adorable I can't imagine my life without them.

Darren is still out of a job but it has been so nice having him home. He helps me out so much! I feel like I haven't done laundry in 2 weeks. Tomorrow we go talk to BSU to see what needs to be done for him to go to school in the fall and how much financial aid we can qualify for. I have been really busy lately. I do the day care for babysteps still Monday mornings, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for a couple hours. Which has been such a blessing! I love working there with the kids and I love the women who work with me in the day care. They are such uplifting people and such a great support, and listeners. They help me keep sane. :) (Love you guys!)Tuesday nights we go to Love and Logic parenting classes. Those are a lot of fun and it has really been working! Love and Logic highly recomended!

Well, I feel like I have chatted on too long so I hope all is well with you! Love you all!
