I know that Valentine's Day is a cheesy holiday, but I enjoy it because it gives me an opportunity to show the people I care about that I am thinking of them. Because I know that actions speak louder than words. The whole week before Valentine's Day Aiden, Kyler and I spent a lot of time making Valentines and muddy buddies (it's the chex mix with chocolate and powdered sugar) for all our family and friends. I got some little crayola valentine's that had animal pictures on them so the kids could color their own to give to their friends and family. They had a lot of fun coloring the valentines. Aiden kept trying to color the side that didn't have a picture though, they were so cute. Aiden also kept saying "This one is for Grandma Julie, This one is for Nonie and Papa, this one is for Lucy..." and kept naming off all his friends and family. I had fun watching them. I went to the dollar store and got construction paper and stickers and made my own valentines and attached them to treat bags that had the muddy buddies in them. I had so much fun I felt like a little kid. I love giving things that I have made to my family and friends because it makes me feel so good to see the look on their face when I give it to them. I also really wanted to make some Valentines for my brothers and sister who I don't see a lot of because I am so busy with my kids. They don't have kids yet and so I know they feel like they don't see a lot of me because I am so busy. I just wanted them to know that I do still think of them and love them.
We spent Valentine's Day together as a family this year. We took the kids to Jamba Juice and got fruit smoothies and had some snacks there. Then we went and looked at fish at the aquarium store, then came home and put the kids to bed for nap time. Later for dinner we all made pizza and then after dinner did puzzels and other activities with the kids. It was a lot of fun because I feel like we haven't had a lot of family time lately. Later that night after the boys went to bed Darren and I just snacked on muddy buddies and sparkling cider and I gave him a back massage. It was a great quality family time day. Darren was so sweet because we didn't have alot of money this year for gifts he made me a shelf out of wood with hooks to hang things and got me a cute little necklace. He is so sweet! Check out his fine craftsmanship!
Well anyways I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day! Love you all!
