Summer Goals!

This seems to be the summer of goals and challenges I have ALWAYS wanted to do but have just never done it! These are ones I am currently working on. I already have one accomplished. Have a garden!

Goal #1: Make the kids a quilt.

Winter is pretty cold here and their thin little blankets on their beds just aren't keeping them warm enough. So I have decided to make them a quilt. I have been collecting every shirt, onsie, and special clothing that they have ever worn since they were born and now have enough fabric to cut into squares and make a special quilt for them. I have wanted to do this for years! I am finally getting it done! The kids are so excited about it! And I just love looking at all the squares I have cut up and remembering who wore what and how cute they were when they were little.

Goal #2: Kyler's 1st year scrapbook.

I did a scrapbook for Aiden's first year and never did one for Kyler. I have always wanted to do it so when I'm done with the quilts I'm going to gather up all the pictures from Kyler's birth to 1st birthday and get them into a scrapbook. I tried scrapbooking, and I honestly didn't like it. It just wasn't my thing but my sister loves to do it. So I'm going to get all the supplies for her she needs and she is going to make it for me. :)

Goal #3: Get into shape!

I have always wanted to completely revamp my lifestyle when it comes to health and fitness. Well as you know I've started doing that through a number of ways. I started myfitnesspal.com to track my calories. I have changed it so I am now allowed to eat 1230 calories a day. I am also trying to cut back on carbs, unhealthy fats, sugar, and coffee. I am working out 5-6 days a week and trying to do yoga a few times a week. I just found yoga poses on yogajournal.com and have been doing those for about 1/2 hr to 45 minutes.  I am wanting this to be a lifestyle change so I'm trying to get into the habit of doing it now!

Goal #4 Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred challenge!

So this kind of goes in line with getting into shape but I have had this work out video for quite a while and I love it! I have done it off and on over the years. It is a 25 minute work out that combines strength, cardio, and abs with a warm up and cool down. This video claims that you can shred off up to 20 lbs in a month. There are 3 levels that you progress through, each one gets harder. I love this work out and it is only 25 minutes! I can totally fit that into my schedule! I have always wanted to do this video for 30 days straight just how she says to do it. 10 days in Level One, 10 days in Level Two, and 10 days in Level Three. I'm going to start it today July 1. I weight 148 lbs right now. I will weight in again in 30 days or by August 1. I am putting Jillian to the test to see what results she can give me. Wish me luck!
