Darren got accepted to Boise State University! Yay Darren! He will begin this fall and is going to become an engineer. He wants to get a minor in electrical engineering and a bachelor's in mechanical engineering. I am so excited that he has decided to do this. It all started when he was layed off we were looking for jobs online. We realized that not only was it hard to find a job, but a job that payed a minumum of $10 an hour. And for a family of 4 $10 an hour is barely enough to make bills, let a lone pay for basic necessities or plan for the future. We realized that because neither of us have any schooling past GED this is what our life would be like. Scrapping by on $10 an hour jobs, most likely doing something that we aren't that passionate about. So, we decided there is no better time to start planning for our future and the best option was for Darren to go to school. So, he has applied for a scholarship and financial aid and they both look really good to get assistance for living and school costs. Aiden is going to preschool this fall and I am going to do babysitting to help with every day living expenses, and so I can be home with Kyler, do the day care at babysteps and pick up Aiden up from preschool.
Some other exciting news, Darren's brother and fiance are expecting a baby! Yay! I am so excited that Aiden and Kyler will have a cousin close to their age. Also after much thought and a lot of talking we decided with everyone's current situations a really good option is for all of us to move in together. Johnny, Alyssa and their baby and our family. They could really use the help with finances and with their new baby. And we can really use help with finances while Darren goes to school. We get a long really well and have a lot of mutual respect for each other and know where boundaries are. When life happens sometimes you have to make sacrifices and do what you have to do to get by and just be grateful for what you do have.
A lot of changes this year, but exciting changes! With Darren going to school, Aiden going to preschool, Johnny and Alyssa having a baby, us moving in together, my sister, Jessica, is getting married and my brother, Josh, is graduating high school. A lot is going on, but it will be a fun adventurous year!
Here are some pictures of the boys. Aiden and Kyler got new skateboards and are attached to them! In this picture they are watching one of Daddy's skateboarding videos.
